About Barigen 4mg
Barigen 4mg (Baricitinib) is part of a class of drugs known as Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors. JAKs are enzymes that send signals to help cells do things, like respond to an immune attack by telling immune cells to make inflammatory proteins. JAK inhibitors stop the signals from getting through and lower inflammation.
The American Academy of Dermatology Association says that researchers have looked at JAK inhibitors like tofacitinib and ruxolitinib as possible treatments for severe alopecia areata. They call this a “major research breakthrough.” Baricitinib is the first JAK inhibitor for severe alopecia areata that the FDA has approved.
Few treatments are available for people with alopecia areata. By giving steroid injections to places where hair is falling out, the immune system can be weakened so hair can grow back. Yale Medicine says another treatment is to put an irritant like squaric acid on the skin. This causes a rash like poison ivy, which makes the immune system attack the hair follicles differently.
When And How Do I Take Barigen 4mg
Barigen is taken once a day as a tablet. For example, if you are over 75 or have had multiple infections, your doctor may decide to lower the standard dose.
Immediately call your doctor if you accidentally take more than the recommended dose. If you miss a dose, don’t double it the next day. Instead, take the normal dose.
After six months, if your symptoms haven’t gotten better, your doctor may decide to stop giving you baricitinib.
Since baricitinib is a long-term treatment, it’s important to keep taking it even if it doesn’t seem to work at first unless you have severe side effects. Even if your symptoms improve, you should keep taking them to help keep your condition under control.
