Description
What is LuciFilgo 100 mg used for?
LuciFilgo 100 mg is a brand of Filgotinib, a selective JAK1 inhibitor used to treat moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults whose previous arthritis medicines (such as methotrexate or other DMARDs) did not work well enough or were not tolerated. It is taken as one tablet once a day and works by blocking the JAK-STAT signals that drive joint inflammation, reducing pain, swelling and stiffness. Filgotinib is a prescription-only medicine and is also used in some countries for moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis.

How LuciFilgo Works
In rheumatoid arthritis, an overactive immune system sends out inflammatory signals that attack the joints. These signals travel through a pathway in your cells called JAK-STAT.
Filgotinib — the active ingredient in LuciFilgo — is a targeted JAK1 inhibitor. Think of it as turning down the volume on the specific signal (JAK1) that drives joint inflammation. With the signal quietened, swelling, pain and stiffness ease, and day-to-day movement gets easier.
In one line: LuciFilgo blocks the JAK1 inflammation signal so your joints hurt and swell less.
Uses
- Rheumatoid arthritis — moderate-to-severe, in adults who had an inadequate response or intolerance to one or more DMARDs. Can be used on its own or with methotrexate.
- Ulcerative colitis — in some countries, for adults with moderate-to-severe active disease when conventional or biologic treatments did not work or were not tolerated.
Dosage & How to Take
- Usual adult dose: 200 mg once daily. The 100 mg strength is used for people aged 65+, those with moderate-to-severe kidney impairment, or those at higher cardiovascular risk — as the doctor decides.
- Take one tablet at the same time each day, with or without food.
- Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not change your dose or stop without medical advice.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember the same day; if it’s almost time for the next dose, skip it — never double up.
Side Effects
Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people): nausea, upper respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, dizziness, and lymphopenia (low white-blood-cell count seen on blood tests).
Get medical help straight away for: signs of serious infection (fever, persistent cough, feeling very unwell), or signs of a blood clot — painful swelling in a leg or arm, chest pain, or sudden shortness of breath.
Warnings & Who Should Not Take It
- Do not use if you have an active serious infection, including active tuberculosis (TB).
- Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Women who can become pregnant must use effective contraception during treatment and for at least one week after stopping.
- Tell your doctor if you have, or have had, heart problems, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or blood clots (DVT or pulmonary embolism).
- Your doctor may order blood tests and a TB check before and during treatment.
- Avoid live vaccines while on treatment unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Storage
Store below 30°C in the original package to protect from moisture. Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack.
